Networking Account Manager, GTA, Ontario

Combat Networks is a full service provider and network integrator, specializing in comprehensive converged network solutions (Networking, WLAN, UC) for the full lifecycle of clients’ communication needs. Our professional services portfolio includes; business analysis, converged network assessment, design, implementation, project management, technical support, and operational management & support of complex network infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities: Account Manager

  • Develop opportunities focused on IP networking, WLAN, network security, NAC (IP networking)
  • Align tightly with our networking vendors to become a subject matter expert on their technology, sales team, processes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendor account managers
  • Pursue net new client opportunities focused on IP networking
  • Assist other Combat Account Managers as a sales overlay in positioning IP networking to our existing Enterprise clients
  • Position Combat maintenance, monitoring and support programs to clients
  • Position Combat implementation services (PS) to clients
  • Develop knowledge Combat vendor solutions: Avaya, Aruba, Extreme, AVST, Nuance, Fortinet
  • Great opportunity for an individual looking to transition from a Technical / SE role to a sales Account Management role

Candidates Should Possess:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience focusing on IP networking
  • Preference for 3 years of sales experience
  • Degree from University or College
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Comfortable in making presentations to small groups
  • Team player with a demonstrable ability to build and maintain both internal and external relationships
  • Initiative and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Avaya solutions and business processes would be an asset
  • Interest to continually learn new technology
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office Suite of applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel is essential

Accounts Receivable Specialist/Clerk, Ottawa, ON

Department Finance & Accounting
Reports to Accounting Manager
Location Carp, Ontario, Canada
Compensation Negotiable
Commitment Permanent, full-time based on a 40 hour work week

 

Job Description:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is an important member of the finance and accounting team at Combat Networks and is expected to have the excellent data entry and organizational skills. The role requires an individual that is detail-oriented, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to help the business succeed and grow.

This role requires working knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Word, and the ability to learn in-house software (Tigerpaw). Furthermore, this role requires excellent verbal and written skills, effective communication with colleagues, suppliers, vendors and customers (as required).

Role Description

  • Ensure accounts receivable are properly recorded and collection goals are actively measured and monitored
  • Maintains communication with account managers and customers on invoicing, billing inquiries and discrepancies
  • Escalates collection risks or bad debts to the Accounting Manager and/or Chief Financial Officer
  • Identifies process improvements on cash management and collections (where applicable)

Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing and collecting from customers
  • Ensuring accuracy and cash application to appropriate customer accounts and invoices
  • Tracking and receiving of Market Development Funds (MDF)
  • Proactively managing customer relationships to ensure on time payments (cross functional)
  • Tracking and maintaining detailed aged receivables information
  • Flagging “at risk” receivables to Accounting Manager (as applicable)
  • Support audit and month end process, compensation and benefits as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in related field
  • Two years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Basic accounting/accounts receivable experience
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new software, CRM (Tigerpaw)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of general business practice and the ability to react to various tasks as required throughout the business day

Accounting Manager, Ottawa,ON

Department: Finance and Accounting
Reports To: CFO

Job Description: Account Manager

The Accounting Manager is an important member of the Finance and Accounting team at Combat Networks (“Combat” or the “Company”). This role provides oversight, management, mentorship and training to the members of the Combat Finance and Accounting team actively engaged in working capital management including accounts receivable and accounts payable. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly financial statements of Combat. Additionally, the Accounting Manager supports the Chief Financial Officer in reporting, treasury, audit, maintaining controls, on-going adherence to best practices and other accounting and finance activities.

Primary Responsibilities: 

Monthly Close Process (50% of time)

  • Leading the month end close process including but not limited to:
    • Posting transactions, reconciliations, accruals, etc.
    • Reviewing accounts for unusual transactions
    • G&A variance analysis
    • Internal financial statement preparation
    • Ad hoc report preparation
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collected for the preparation and inputted into the monthly financial statements
  • Completing the monthly close process on time and delivering timely financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and collaboration and executing on those process improvements

Support (30% of time):

  • Supervising and providing back up as necessary for working capital management including accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory
  • Producing ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Supporting the Chief Financial Officer across treasury, audit, working capital management and other areas as required

Process and Other Responsibilities (20% of time):

  • Monitoring and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve department processes and productivity
  • Remain up-to-date on new accounting procedures and their effect on financial statements
  • Providing training and mentorship to the Combat Finance and Accounting team
  • Completing other duties such as payroll tasks, maintaining leases and government remittances

Will be required to perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description.

Key Criteria/Requirements:

Education:

  • Professional Accounting Designation required (CMA, CGA, CA, CPA)
  • University Degree or College Diploma preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years experience in accounting
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a managerial role
  • Strong computer skills including QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn TigerPaw, Combat’s CRM system
  • Technology industry experience considered an asset

Other Requirements

  • Knowledge of general business practice and the ability to interpret financial information
  • Experience administering Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented
