Sales Support – Ottawa/Montreal

Location:  Ottawa, ON

Job Description:

  • Input and update client info in Avaya & vendor sales portals
  • Input and update client info in Avaya & vendor service & ordering portals
  • Input and update client info in Combat service portal: Tigerpaw
  • Follow up with vendors on shipping details and delivery dates, and provide updates to the Combat team and clients
  • Create small & routine client quotes under the direction of an Account Manager
  • Receive client orders directly for the same small orders, place order through sales process, and track through to delivery, thus completely offloading the AM from small quotes
  • Provide support to the Combat sales team in Ottawa and Montreal
  • Provide backup coverage to other sales support colleagues in other regions

Candidates Should Possess:

  • Minimum 5 years of corporate business experience
  • Minimum 3 years of sales support or project delivery support experience
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral is required
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Work experience for a telecommunications service company is an asset

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting and Finance team at Combat Networks (“Combat” or the “Company”). The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing financial expertise and support to the Accounting and Finance Team, Account Management Team, Operations Team and others within the Company as required. This role supports all financial reporting including journal entries and financial statement preparation, financial processes and compliance processes for the Company. Additionally, this role is tasked with developing dashboards, creating reporting capabilities and ensuring continued adherence to accounting best practices.

Responsibilities:

A. Support (20% of time):

  • Supporting the Combat Accounting and Finance department, this position will assist in preparing summary financial numbers and management discussion comments on a monthly basis; support the annual external audit and support the production of ad hoc reports for internal and external requirements.

B. Analytical (35% of time):

  • Creating, running and updating dashboards with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Preparing monthly financial packages, operational budgets and capital budgets for review by departmental leadership and Combat Executive Leadership
  • Creating and building reporting capabilities around job costing, contract profitability and other areas as required
  • Managing inventory including analysis of inventory turns, inventory obsolescence and timely updating of inventory in system
  • Developing, building and maintaining daily/weekly/monthly/annual cash flow forecasts

C. System (20% of time):

  • Understanding and monitoring the use of QuickBooks and TigerPaw to ensure data being reported and captured are meeting requirements for all user groups
  • Assisting in identifying and recommending development and maintenance of QuickBooks and TigerPaw as updates and changes to the business environment evolve to ensure QuickBooks and TigerPaw continue to work in an effective and efficient manner
  • Ensuring that any changes to systems are implemented in a timely and effective manner

D. Process (15% of time):

  • Developing, implementing and documenting the accounting processes and internal controls to ensure continued compliance and continued best practices
  • Automating manual processes currently being used in Combat Accounting and Finance and across functional and cross-functional areas

E. Growth (10% of time):

  • Assisting in the analysis, due diligence and review of new locations, acquisitions or changes to the product delivery models for the business

Key Criteria / Requirements:

Education:

  • Professional Accounting Designation required (CMA, CGA, CA, CPA)
  • University Degree or College Diploma preferred

Experiences:

  • 3-5+ years experience as an accounting professional with full-cycle industry / operational accounting
  • Strong computer skills including QuickBooks and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn TigerPaw, Combat’s CRM system
  • Inventory and contract accounting experience considered an asset
  • Technology industry experience considered an asset

Other Requirements:

  • Highly analytical with experience with budgets, forecasting, internal transactions and executive presentations
  • A strong strategic mind capable of seeing the big picture and supporting the Accounting and Finance team towards organizational goals
  • Knowledge of general business practice and the ability to interpret financial information
  • Experience administering Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards

Network Engineer

Location: GTA – Stouffville, Ont

Description

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of network technologies for our clients, as well as, the ongoing support of these technologies.

As a dedicated Network Engineer you will be a part of an industry leader in network integration.  You’ll have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies, deploying systems in some of the largest institutions in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients, developing requirements in order to design purpose-built wired and wireless networks. Includes presentation of final designs to stakeholders
  • Create and maintain network architecture documentation as it relates to the design and ongoing maintenance of client systems
  • Creation of system implementation plans
  • Contribute to technical proposals
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and clients to ensure a smooth transition from pre to post sales activities
  • Perform after-hours implementation work, as well as rotation on-call support
  • Conduct research on products, services, protocols and standards to remain up-to-date on developments in the networking industry
  • Monitor health of client systems, create baseline requirements and report on performance statistics

Knowledge & Experience

  • Five (5) years or more in Network Engineering or a combination of Engineering, Administrator or Analyst support roles
  • Proven experience and success with designing and implementing LAN, WAN, and WLAN systems
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills
  • Hands-on knowledge and application of Layer 2 protocols (Ethernet, STP, 802.11, VLAN, LACP)
  • Hands-on knowledge and application of Layer 3 routing protocols (as a minimum OSPF, ISIS, RIP)
  • Hands-on knowledge and application of Layer 7 protocols (DNS, DHCP, LDAP) used within a Microsoft and non-Microsoft environment
  • Proven experience with network capacity planning
  • Knowledge and experience with network security control (NAC) (EaPOL, 802.1x, Radius, AAA)
  • Knowledge of hands-on experience with Network management systems and best practices
  • Strong, analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation

Branch Administrator & Sales Support

Location: GTA – Stouffville, Ont

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate local shipping & receiving for the GTA branch
  • Manage inventory updates and periodic inventory counts
  • Coordinate vendor RMAs
  • Manage branch office supplies
  • Expectation to be in the office during standard business hours (at least 9:00 to 4:00 pm)

There is flexibility on daily start and end times.

  • Assist in other items as assigned by the branch manager
  • Assist local team members on urgent unplanned activities – help assemble an RFP binder

Primary Responsibilities: Voice Presale SE

  • Conduct needs assessment with clients for  Avaya/Cisco/Lync VoIP, UC, and application solutions
  • Research, design and price Avaya/Cisco/Lync VoIP, UC, and application solutions
